Ole! Spanish Night.

What a great night we had last Saturday. The lounge of our house became a restaurant for the night and people tucked into a wide variety of Spanish food.Everyone seemed to have a good time and we raised lots of money towards our feeding project in Chiziro.
Thanks to all those who supported us and our band of helpers who worked tirelessly all evening.

Refurbishment of Good Samaritan School

On our recent visit to the Good Samaritan School we noticed that several of the classrooms really needed refurbishment so we told Rev Alick Malama that we would do our best to help with funds for this and now we are pleased to say the work has been started.

Feeding Project at Good Samaritan School, Lusaka

We are thrilled to announce that we have enough people signed up on a standing order basis to start the well needed feeding project at The Good Samaritan School. This will mean that children will now receive one hot meal a day and we are sure that this will lead to far more pupils attending school on a regular basis. As you know we already feed hundreds of children in Chiziro and we were able to see this first hand during our visit in October. Thanks to all our supporters.

Carols by Candlelight 2013

Yet another very enjoyable start to the festive season which was attended by over 75 people.
The singing seems to get better each year and our sincere thanks must go to Rachel, Phil and the newly formed Llysfaen Singers.
Hopefully much of the money raised will go towards some much needed refurbishing work at the Good Samaritan School in Lusaka.
This is Maggie,Sharon and Rev.Alick Malama during our visit to the school October 2013.

Back from Zambia

Wow! We are back from an amazing trip to Lusaka and Chiziro. It was great to see the new school we have built and it was a privilege to be present at the opening ceremony. The heat was incredible and so were the smiling faces of the children and the teachers. The builders have done an amazing job and it was wonderful to see the cooks preparing food for the children over their open fire.
We also made two visits to The Good Samaritan School in Lusaka but were disappointed to find out that the American Charity who had been providing food for the children had pulled out due to the recession. This now means that fewer pupils attend the school as parents/carers keep them home from school to work to earn money for food.
We are determined to reinstate the feeding programme at the school and have set up a Feeding Support account to pay for the maize which is used to make Nshima for the children. We also gave money to Rev Alick Malama to grow crops which can be used to feed the children in the future.
We desperately need people to donate a few pounds a month via a standing order so that we can ensure that the programme is successful. Please help us if you can!
